CONDITIONS AND RULES OF ENTRY

Eligibility

Applications are invited from companies that:

  • Are prepared to be an Ambassador for the Queensland ICT Industry
  • Are a Queensland based small ICT company (less than 100 employees)
  • Are responsible for technology that is wholly owned or substantially developed in Queensland
  • Are ASIC registered
  • Have targeted North America as an export market
  • Will provide a report/testimonial regarding award impact on business
  • Agree to the Terms and Conditions for the program

Rules of Entry

  • Judges reserve the right to contact applicants or visit and interview applicants at their place of business/employment to assist in their judging.
  • Entries must be submitted via post no later than the deadline of   Wednesday June 6 2007.  Entries lodged after closing time will not be accepted.
  • In completing and submitting an application for the 2007 Mincom Connect Award you agree that your company's name and contact details will be provided to sponsors or press upon request.
  • The judging panel may decide not to award the prize at all, or where entries do not meet an appropriate standard of excellence (as per the judging criteria)
  • The judging panel's decisions are final and no discussion or correspondence will be entered into
  • Those applications judged to be ineligible will be notified prior to the presentation of the Award
  • Applications not containing adequate financial details cannot be accepted
  • The Winning applicant will be notified at the winner's announcement function on July 4, 2007
  • Award Prize can only be used with in keeping with the aims of the competition in providing assistance to the winning applicant to establish itself for 6 months in North America.
  • Award Prize must be taken within 6 months of winner's announcement ceremony.
  • Award winner must notify the Award Director of any changes within the company eg, change of ownership or change of CEO after the submission of their application.
  • Award winner must notify the Award Director of any change in circumstances that will prevent them for taking up the prize allocated to them.
  • The winner is responsible for its own flights to and from North America, and for all internal North American flights.
  • The winner is responsible for all US visas, entry permits and work permits.
  • The winner must have and hold valid medical insurance for travel and work in North America.
  • The winner is responsible for personal accommodation in North America.
  • The winner shall release and indemnify Mincom from any loss or damage suffered or incurred by the winner and/or Mincom in connection with any other omission of the winner, except where such loss or damage is caused solely by Mincom's negligence
  • The winner may gain access to confidential information of Mincom and will be required to enter a standard confidentiality agreement.

Judging Criteria

An independent judging panel will judge all completed applications.  The judging panel is selected on their relevant industry knowledge. 

In addition to content addressing sections of the application form, the judging panel will focus on:

  • The degree and use of their technology
  • How their technology is innovative and it's export potential
  • Growth in turnover, profits, employees and the capacity to sustain growth internationally and in North America
  • The use of good business management and processes and systems throughout their business.

Your application must prove to the judges that your organisation is a successful, innovative Queensland based ICT company ready to embark in the USA.

The Application Process

Once all the applications are submitted, they are sent to the judging panel for assessment.  Three (3) finalists and the ultimate winner will be announced at the award presentation ceremony.  You will not be notified prior to the event.

Associated Promotion

By entering the 2007 Mincom Connect Award, your company may be profiled in associated media releases and press articles.  It is important that you provide an appropriate 100 word company profile in your application that is approved for these promotional purposes.

Your company will also be asked to provide a testimonial/case study following the completion of the Award benefits. 

Confidentiality

Financial information provided in your application will be used solely for the purpose of judging and will treated strictly commercial-in-confidence.
